Yemeni Houthis Demand Saudi Arabia End Military Aggression and Lift Blockade
SANAA: The Iranian-backed Houthis in Yemen have called on the Saudis to make a “courageous and wise decision” to stop their military aggression, lift the current blockade and put an end to any hostile action in Yemen. The Houthis’ ruling movement said the decision to go the peaceful route will not inflict any negative consequences and will produce positive results for the two countries concerned. Its assertion was that it was much better for Riyadh to go the peace route than keep going on military operations, and warned that past events have already taken their toll on Saudi Arabia, and the consequences of future ones could be even worse. The move comes on the heels of several escalating tensions in the region, such as the recent attacks by Houthis on Saudi institutions and its shipping routes in the Red Sea.
