We Must Unite Against Terrorism and Are Ready to Sit With the Opposition to Address National Challenges, States Prime Minister’s Adviser Rana Sanaullah

ISLAMABAD: PM’s Adviser Rana Sanaullah has also pointed out that terrorism poses a paramount threat to the nation as a whole and political forces should act in unity in this regard and the government was fully prepared to sit with the opposition for a permanent solution.

At a Senate session, Rana Sanaullah said that the previous time PTI’s leadership engaged in sit-ins outside the Prime Minister’s House and threatened severe action, he had met with them on national issues and subsequently Operation Zarb-e-Azb was launched which successfully suppressed terrorism. He has reiterated the Prime Minister’s willingness to bring all political parties to address security issues together to find solutions to the on-going security problems.

The Prime Minister’s Adviser Rana Sanaullah has made a number of key points during his address to the Senate.
Criticism of KP Government’s Approach: Sanaullah claimed that there had been many issues sorted out in the previous talks, such as meetings with the PTI founder, but said that the previous Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had not co-operated effectively in the counter terror operations. He compared this with Balochistan where the provincial government is actively working with the state on terrorism.

From prison, Condemnning Anti-State Narratives: Highlighting ongoing sacrifices, Sanaullah noted that individuals were inciting to engage in ‘restrictive discussions’ and ‘social media propaganda’ against ‘State institutions and their leadership’ and pointed to recent incidents of ‘martyrdom’ of young soldiers, including a recent martyr who had been stabbed to death by non-State groups.

The adviser challenged Opposition’s stance, citing the fact that they were not willing to visit the Speaker’s chamber or accept the opposition leader notified, thus questioning why they are refusing to avail themselves of the official privileges of the parliamentary House.
