US Strikes Across Iran Leave 12 Dead and Over 70 Injured Amid Escalating Tensions

TEHRAN: The United States has launched a new series of military attacks on Iranian territory, having airstrikes hit the cities and regions of Ahvaz, Chabahar, Qeshm and Bandar Abbas, resulting in 12 deaths and more than 70 injuries.

Seven people were killed in Khuzestan Province and five in an American airstrike in the vicinity of a wedding in the nearby Iranian island port area of Sirik/Kuhestak, according to Iranian media reports.

The outbreak of explosions in southern coastal regions and in Strait of Hormuz
At least five blasts were reported near Masan village on the Qeshm Island and at least four blasts were heard near the strategic Strait of Hormuz by Iranian media.

There were also blasts to the east of southern port city of Bandar Abbas and the US military reported that its planes hit Jiroft Airport in southeastern Iran.

US Central Command Confirmation.
The U.S. military said it launched an attack against Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) bases within Iran. The operations were in response to recent activity in the area, regional updates and international reactions are ongoing, US Central Command (CENTCOM) said.
