US Must Prepare for Severe Consequences and Economic Fallout Before Daring Any Further Attacks, Warns Iranian Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf
TEHRAN: Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf has given the U.S. a strong warning to brace itself for “serious consequences and big losses” if it considers any further military action against Iran.
In a direct warning, which was also accompanied by a pointed meme, Speaker Qalibaf warned those who think that they can benefit from a war with Iran is in for a difficult time. The prospect of renewed war, he said, would have dire consequences for Washington, such as plummeting stock markets, dropping fighter planes, a rising national debt and inflation, and casualties in American ranks.
Key Highlights of Iranian Leaders’ Warnings to Washington
Avoiding military miscalculation: Qalibaf pointed out that any potential advantages to the United States of launching a military campaign against Tehran will be outweighed by the strategic and financial risks.
Meanwhile, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi criticised Washington’s financial commitments to Israel, noting that the US has already spent more than $11 billion on its air defence systems.
Accusations of Parasitic Dependency: Araghchi said this huge financial drain is not actually a bilateral partnership, but a parasitic relationship between Israel and the Americans, as the latter are using US taxpayers’ dollars for Israeli military defence while failing to invest in the American economy.
