US Midterm Election Results Will Not Bring Any Change to Washington’s Hostile Policy Toward Iran, States Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei; Warns of Comprehensive Retaliation Against Foreign Aggression

TEHRAN: Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has given a firm official response to the result of the U.S. midterm elections, noting that change in internal politics in Washington won’t affect its “hostile” policies against Tehran.

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei made this comment in a formal statement in which he said that anyone who thinks that a change in governing parties in the U.S. will change their behavior is deeply misguided. Those who believe that U.S. hostility can be accommodated in other ways have got a serious misconception if America resorts to renewed aggression, he said, adding that Iran will retaliate with a much broader and more powerful response.

The key points of Iranian Supreme Leader’s statement are as follows:
Shattering Myth of American Invincibility: Khamenei said recent events in the Persian Gulf and the changing security situation in the Strait of Hormuz have burst the bubble of American invincibility, and revealed the governments of the region, which are based on foreign powers and do not represent the population.

Rejection of Unconditional Surrender: The Supreme Leader emphasized that the “Great Satan” was only interested in the Iranian nation putting down its arms unconditionally, otherwise it would be a dishonour to the sacrifices of martyrs and a blow to the dignity of the nation, and would give a boost to the arrogant enemy to make more demands and carry out further aggression.

Solidarity with Tehran’s resolute stance, Khamenei emphasized that national prestige and resistance are still in the fore front of the nuclear city despite foreign pressures and economic barriers.
