US is Manipulating Energy Markets Through Media to Prolong Conflict: Abbas Araghchi

TEHRAN:Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has asserted that the United States is manipulating the global energy market through its media apparatus, deliberately attempting to influence energy supplies to prolong the ongoing conflict.

In a formal statement, Abbas Araghchi noted that certain elements linked to Israel are promoting overly optimistic assessments regarding the current geopolitical situation, even as the genuine economic and financial consequences of the conflict are ultimately borne by American citizens and everyday consumers.

According to the Iranian foreign minister, the volatility in global energy prices and market uncertainty directly trickles down to ordinary consumers. He argued that Washington’s interventions in the energy sector are designed to artificially manage and extend the duration and fallout of the war.

Criticizing US policies and media narratives, Araghchi emphasized the urgent need to bring factual realities to light and accurately comprehend the economic repercussions of the conflict.

He reiterated that, contrary to claims promoted in certain quarters, the true financial burden of these escalations falls squarely on US consumers.

Foreign Minister Araghchi’s statement comes at a time when heightened regional tensions have intensified global anxieties regarding energy market stability, price fluctuations, and supply chain continuity.
