WASHINGTON : Iranian leaders greatly underestimated their regional power and leverage, U.S. President Donald Trump warned Tehran, reiterating Washington’s serious consideration of new military action against Tehran.
Trump in an interview with Axios said he was also hoping to have more discussions with Iranian leaders this week, but Tehran’s offers to the U.S. are still not acceptable.

US Permanent Representative to the United Nations Mike Waltz, in an interview with NBC News, reiterated Washington’s strong message that stopping Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons is a top priority.
Tehran must certainly address “pending matters” related to its highly enriched uranium stockpiles, meet the international non-proliferation standards to the letter, and respect the international law, Ambassador Waltz said.
