Unannounced Power Load Shedding Persists Across Lahore and Punjab
LAHORE: There are no reliefs for the residents of Lahore as well as other parts of Punjab from unannounced and forced power load shedding, who are getting affected by the power outages throughout the whole night in various areas under Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) region.
Harsh load shedding affects the LESCO region as night falls, as the power cuts are more frequent and consumers are experiencing more technical issues, according to sources. Sources say lack of LNG is one of the key reasons for the crisis.The lack of electricity generation due to the absence of liquefied natural gas (LNG) is one of the leading causes of the crisis, sources say.
One of the main contributing factors to the current load shedding is the reduction in the production of electricity, alongside LESCO’s old and weak distribution network.Power Surges throughout the Night: These regularly occurring power surges significantly affected residents’ sleep patterns.
In different urban areas, forced load shedding is taking place sporadically for 30 minutes up to one hour. Meanwhile, the reports from rural and border area are showing that unannounced load shedding is now being imposed for a full hour after each hour of supply.
