Terrorist Attack on Road Construction Camp in Duki District Leaves Security Guard Martyred and 18 Workers Abducted
QUETTA: Heavily armed terrorists attacked a road construction company’s camp, in the Duki district of Balochistan, in a cowardly act of terror to disrupt regional infrastructure and development.
Local police and security forces said the gunmen were confronted by the police and security guards and clashed with them, leading to a heavy exchange of gunfire. In the gun battle, one security guard was killed and another injured.
After the break-in, the attackers overpowered the staff of the camp, forcibly kidnapped 18 construction workers who were living in the camp and fled into the surrounding mountainous area.
Sources also said the thieves burned off heavy construction equipment and installation equipment of the company, resulting in material damage.
After the attack, there was a large police, Frontier Corps (FC) and law enforcement force deployed to the scene.Rescue Operations:
Security forces have cordoned off the entire area and initiated a commendable clearance operation and search in an effort to locate the escaping terrorists and ensure successful recovery of all 18 kidnapped labourers.
Hostile elements trying to disrupt peace, connectivity and economic development in Balochistan will be dealt a hard blow, the senior officials reiterated.
