State Bank of Pakistan Dismisses Social Media Rumors Regarding Ban on Rs10 Currency Note, Clarifies New Series Proposal
KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has officially dismissed all reports of social media regarding the withdrawal and ban of Rs10 currency note as groundless and confirmed that there is no deadline for Rs10 currency note to be exchanged.
An official statement by the central bank said that the central cabinet is considering a new series of currency notes. A decision on the new series and the denomination of the old series has not yet been made, however.

The State Bank said that in case any decision takes place in future on replacement or withdrawal of any currency note, the general public will be officially informed. The central bank also confirmed that sufficient and adequate time would be given to the public to receive any notes that have been phased-out.
SBP has cautioned citizens against getting financial, currency related information from unofficial sources through social media, urging them to rely on its official communication channels only.
