Security Forces Eliminate 18 Terrorists in Effective Operations Across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan; President Zardari Reaffirms Resolve to Crush Foreign-Backed Conspiracies
ISLAMABAD ; In a series of well-executed counter-terrorism operations, Pakistan’s security forces have neutralised 18 terrorists in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan provinces.Security sources said forces were able to locate and identify the militants’ hideouts in North Waziristan and neighbouring areas.
The security forces have, by continuous tactical monitoring and timely intelligence-led operation, completely destroyed 13 terrorists from Fitna al-Khawarij, thus securing the state’s determination in the Azm-e-Istehkam vision to root out terror and create lasting peace.Key Highlights of the Counter-Terrorism OperationsNorth Waziristan Operation:

Recoveries and Clearance: The engagements resulted in the recovery of an extensive cache of heavy weapons, ammunition and explosive materials from the slain militants while wide clearance and search operations are ongoing in the localities surrounding the area to track down any escaping accomplices.
President Asif Ali Zardari richly praised the valiant and firm efforts of the security forces in countering the terrorist outfits.
He said these operations were an embodiment of the indomitable morale and determination of the people to fight against anti-state elements.The President also vowed that the evil plots being hatched by the foreign backers of these terrorists and their local facilitators will be thoroughly unravelled and destroyed.
