Schools Will Remain Open Normally From Monday to Friday, Declares Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat
LAHORE: The continuity of education should be assured in all circumstances and the Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has strongly announced that from Monday to Friday schools throughout the province will be open normally.
The Provincial Education Minister clearly addressed parents, in an official statement made through his social media account on X (formerly Twitter), urging them not to listen to unverified rumors or social media speculation.
If Markets Are Open, Schools Should Not Be Closed!
Speaking his views, Rana Sikandar Hayat said educational institutions should be known for 5 days a week. He said: “In my personal view, schools should be open on five days a week – 90 per cent of children attend schools that are close to their home. If commercial markets are open, schools should not be closed either.
The minister explained that no plan is being considered to close schools. He also said that even if such a policy discussion should come up in the future he personally would push the federal government to ensure that the education experience of students would never be disrupted.
