Punjab Local Government Elections: Procurement of Election Material Begins
LAHORE: A consultative meeting between Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and the Punjab government has officially kicked off the process of procuring election material.
The Election Commission has given permission to the Provincial Election Commissioner of Punjab to make the required election supplies which will be issued through formal tenders soon. The Punjab government earlier agreed to hold local government elections in the month of December, 2026 to January, 2027, official sources said.
Preventing Further Delays
The commission’s proactive efforts in procuring electoral supplies in a timely manner is seen as an attempt to avoid any further delay in conducting local body elections across the province, political observers say.
