PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Forward Bloc Announces Backing for Sohail Afridi, Rejects No-Confidence Move and Confirms October 4 Long March Participation
PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa forward bloc has officially declared that it will support no-stop Chief Minister Sohail Afridi to oppose any possible No-confidence motion and also confirmed its participation in the long march which will be held on October 4.
The meeting, which party sources said was very pivotal, was held on September 29 with more than 20 PTI KP forward bloc members to assess the changing provincial political scenario.
The following are some of the highlights from the Forward Bloc Meeting.
Support to Chief Minister Sohail Afridi: The members unanimously pledged to support Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and will not vote or take any other action against his government.
Total support for the party’s vision: The bloc reiterated its wholehearted support for the party’s vision and confirmed that it would be part of the long march to Islamabad on the scheduled date of October 4.
Exclusive Provincial Autonomy on Leadership: With respect to possible scenarios of disqualification, the members decided that any future Chief Minister shall be elected only by Assembly Parliamentary Party, without involving National Assembly members.
Rejection of External Directives: The forward bloc said that their instructions from central party leaders and the founding leader Imran Khan’s sisters will not be considered as final in electing the leadership in the provinces and all decisions will be taken based on internal parliamentary consensus.
