PTI Assures Islamabad High Court That State Machinery and Resources Will Not Be Used in September 27 Protest
ISLAMABAD: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has pledged a ban on any use of state machinery, official transport or public funds in connection with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) planned protest on Sept 27 before the Islamabad High Court (IHC).
The Chief Secretary of KP Khan also formally conveyed the assurance to the court bench during the proceedings. In reply, the bench had asked the Chief Secretary to file an affidavit in writing and IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police to present the same at the next hearing.
Written Order and Court Proceedings
The Islamabad High Court in a written order issued by the larger bench dismissed the petition after a detailed two-page analysis on the petition. The court has also directed the Advocate General Islamabad and Prosecutor General Islamabad to present arguments in the hearing.
The pledge in regard to non-use of state resources and machinery for election-related events was officially put in writing in the court’s directives.
