Prime Minister Meets Iranian President, Agrees to Further Strengthen Bilateral Ties
BISHKEK: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in the margins of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Heads of Government meeting, where they discussed the bilateral relations and cooperation in all areas.
The two chiefs discussed in the meeting seriously the prospect of further developing and deepening bilateral ties, noting the importance of maximizing the use of opportunities available for expanding cooperation in various areas.
Induction and Programme of Activities in Kyrgyzstan
Kyrgyz Cabinet Chairman Adylbek Kasymaliev warmly welcomed Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on his visit to Kyrgyzstan, where he had a three-day official visit.
Foreign Office spokesperson said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will deliver a speech at the SCO on September 1 giving Pakistan’s perspective on regional and global issues while he will also be there for the SCO Plus summit session.
Bilateral Engagements and World Nomad Games.
The Prime Minister will be the guest of honor at the opening ceremony of the World Nomad Games and hold bilateral meetings with the leaders of different world countries who are participating in the event. The topics to be discussed include regional connectivity, relations, trade, investment and other issues of mutual concern.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will also make an official visit to Kyrgyz Republic on 2nd September to discuss all aspects of Pakistan-Kyrgyz relations with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov.
The SCO Summit was attended by dignitaries in large numbers.
It is noteworthy that the SCO summit is hosting high-profile leaders, such as the Presidents of Russia, China and Iran, along with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which means that the Prime Ministers of Pakistan and India are also holding their talks in Bishkek this week.
The Prime Minister is accompanied on the tour by Federal Ministers Jam Khan, Abdul Aleem Khan and Attaullah Tarar.
