Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Meets Chinese Communist Party Minister Liu Jianchao in Islamabad; Reaffirms Iron-Clad Bilateral Ties, Expands Cooperation in Trade and IT, and Hosts Official Banquet
ISLAMABAD: During the high level meeting with Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Liu Jianchao, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif highlighted that friendship between Pakistan and China is a time tested bond and they are capable of withstanding all challenges.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif welcomed Liu Jianchao and his accompanying Chinese delegation to Islamabad while appreciating the CPC International Department for playing an active role in promoting institutional cooperation, he said that bilateral relations were well grounded on deep mutual trust and strong people-to-people linkages.

Prime Minister General’s Views on Strategic and Economic Cooperation: Expressing Pakistan’s steadfast resolve to strengthen cooperation with Beijing, the Prime Minister commended mutual eagerness to deepen the global partnership in trade and investment, regional connectivity and information technology (IT).
Responding to this, Minister Liu Jianchao passed on warm greetings and best wishes to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and reiterated China’s keen interest to further enhance the long-standing friendships and understanding between the two countries through high-level exchanges, which are aimed at further strengthening the iron-clad friendship between China and Pakistan.
Regional Affairs and Official Banquet: The meeting discussed in detail the developments in the region and the world and the two sides reiterated their strong willingness to continue close co-ordination and support at the international fora. At the end of the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif organized an exclusive official dinner to welcome the honorable Chinese guest and his delegation.
