NEW YORK : At the 81st United Nations General Assembly session, the United States President, Donald Trump, addressed the world on various global security, regional conflict and international diplomacy issues in a significant speech. In his address, President Trump praised the leadership of Pakistan by saying “Prime Minister of Pakistan [Shehbaz Sharif] is an excellent person and a great leader.
Trump noted Pakistan’s positive contribution alongside others to peace efforts in the world.The U.S. President made special mention of the Gaza Board of Peace, with active involvement of key regional and global partners. “The people of the Gaza Board of Peace are very special and good. It is going on in Pakistan, Qatar, Jordan and elsewhere,” Trump said.
Reminding of past interventions, Trump said that his administration was “never afraid” to end long-standing international wars as it was in the habit of working hard to de-escalate conflicts and bring peace and stability to the world during significant war standoffs, including in South Asia.Turning to West Asia and Iran, President Trump said the Iranian government is isolated and facing tremendous economic pressure.
He said Washington is attentively watching events in the region and asserted that it is important to keep a firm hand to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons and promote stability in the world.In the meantime, the UN General Assembly hosted a frenzy of diplomacy, bilateral high-level talks and strategic delegations on the changing security agenda.
