Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Condemns Houthi Attacks on Saudi Arabia; Declares Pakistan Stands Firmly with the Kingdom Under Makkah Joint Defense Agreement
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has given a robust and unambiguous condemnation to the recent missile and drone attacks by the Houthis on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, urging the Houthis militia to immediately cease all aggressive attacks against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned hostile aerial attacks on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and Abha International Airport, and highlighted the high level of preparedness, awareness and professionalism shown by the Saudi Armed Forces and the air defense systems of the air forces.
Reiteration of Makkah Defense Pact: Islamabad’s firm position was reiterated by the Prime Minister who said that Pakistan was fighting side by side with Saudi Arabia under the umbrella of the Makkah Joint Defense Pact. He emphasized that Pakistan’s defence obligations and support measures are still in full force to ensure the security of the Kingdom.
Support to the Sovereignty and Self-Defense: The premier reiterated Pakistan’s unflinching commitment to ensuring the safety and territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its critical infrastructure, and its right to protect the Kingdom’s citizens and cities from external attacks.
Escalation: The incident comes amid a series of coordinated ballistic missile and drone attacks, the latest of which, launched on Monday, damaged material property and injured several people in Riyadh and Khamis Mushait, before being intercepted by coalition planes in the air.
