Prime Minister Directs Petroleum Minister to Provide Fuel Price Relief to Public

Prime Minister Directs Officials to Provide Relief to Public on Petroleum Product Prices

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has instructed the Minister for Petroleum to speedily visit Karachi and act promptly to ease the tension of the public on fuel price. The instructions have been given at a meeting between Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik.

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, Minister for Economic Affairs Ahad Khan Cheema, Minister for Climate Change Dr. Musadik Malik and Member of the National Assembly Hamza Shehbaz were also in attendance at the meeting.

The talks with Local Oil Refineries for reduction in diesel prices.
The Prime Minister directed the Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik to rush to Karachi and start negotiations with oil refineries.

Shehbaz Sharif said the minister must take necessary steps to bring down the cost of locally produced diesel. He has pointed out that a significant part of the diesel consumption is produced locally and the Petroleum Minister should personally finalise the talks with refineries as soon as possible to reduce the diesel prices.

The Prime Minister instructed that relief be offered to the people as soon as and as widely as possible.
