PPP Candidate Faisal Rathore Wins LA-17 Haveli Seat in AJK Elections
Muzaffarabad ; Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) general elections are being held in the country in three phases, with the third phase taking place in the LA-17 Haveli constituency where Dr. Faisal Mumtaz Rathore of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has won. The Election Commission of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (ECK) officially declared the compiled results in Form 27, which showed that Rathore has emerged the winner. He won 33,872 votes to beat his political opponents.Independent/competing candidate Khawaja Tariq Saeed managed to get 12,338 votes, while Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Mohsin Aziz came in second with 32,353 votes.
On the official results announcement day, the PPP workers and supporters in Haveli celebrated the official result with jubilant rallies and festive displays and slogans for the winning candidate, a huge political success for PPP in the region.
