Negotiations Will Not Be Prolonged; PTI Must Unconditionally Call Off Long March, Declares PPP Senator Sherry Rehman
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader and Senator Sherry Rehman has reiterated that there can be no endless delay in the talks with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and the opposition party should withdraw from their long march without any conditions.
The Senator had opined that the on-going political discourse will be made public in a transparent manner after completion of the next round of sessions.
Some of Sherry Rehman’s stances are highlighted below:
No Prolonged Dialogue: Senator Rehman emphasized that these talks are not meant to be “prolonged” and PTI has asked for time to “consult within itself and give formal response.
Terrorism is a Red Line: Rehman noted that Pakistan’s security and counter-terrorism measures are a clear red line for Pakistan’s PPP and highlighted the sacrifices of security personnel, police officers and citizens.
In reiterating the coalitions stance, she said both parties have agreed to give each other enough time to build trust before it gets in the way of the process, and that the coalition’s stance on protest marches has not changed.
