Petrol Subsidy: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Directs Establishment of Facilitation Desks at Petrol Pumps to Assist Citizens
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has instructed the relevant authorities to set up special facilitation desks at petrol pumps all over the country to help eligible citizens easily access fuel subsidy and register.
The Prime Minister attended a high level review meeting in Islamabad to review the progress of the special relief scheme and discuss the impact of regional developments in the Gulf countries, oil price rise in the world and various steps taken to shield the middle and working class from the impact of oil price hikes.
Directives for Active Guidance and Nationwide Launch
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif directed officials to make sure that the deserving citizens are facilitated at every stage of the relief scheme with an emphasis on public convenience, by directing the officials to establish facilitation desks for the purpose. He also directed the concerned authorities to keep their machinery in full swing to create public awareness on the initiative.
While briefing the Prime Minister, it was told that the fuel subsidy scheme has been officially launched in all the areas of the country including Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan. Full details and guidelines about the fuel subsidy are available on the official Urdu web portal, officials said, while successful registrations continue to grow and the provincial governments are providing full administrative cooperation.
