Peshawar High Court Seeks Response from KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi Over Alleged Use of State Resources for Political Activities
PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has asked the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi for an official response regarding the alleged misuse of state resources to raise political slogans and protest long marches.
The hearing on the petition challenging alleged misuse of administrative machinery was held by a two-member bench of the high court led by Chief Justice SM Attique Shah.

During the proceedings, the petitioner’s counsel alleged that the Chief Minister has been actively using the official machinery and resources for conducting political activities, particularly the Lakki Marwat long march in an official Government helicopter.
Memorial to Prior Judicial Precedents: The petitioner’s counsel cited the Peshawar High Court’s landmark November, 2025, judgment which had explicitly prohibited the use of public resources and money for partisan political activities.
Court Notice Issued: The high court bench in its formal notice asked the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province and respondents to give formal “clarifications” on the allegations.
