Pakistan Strongly Rejects Afghan Taliban Regime’s Baseless Allegations Regarding Nooristan Clashes, Highlights Threat of Cross-Border Terrorism
ISLAMABAD: The Government of Pakistan has categorically denied to the Afghan Taliban regime over the alleged internal strife in Noorman Province, which is completely untrue and baseless.
Pakistan has no role, involvement or linkage with any skirmish, clash or development inside Nooristan or any part of Afghanistan, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said in an official statement. However, the Ministry refuted allegations of Pakistani security forces or intelligence agencies being involved in the matter as “entirely fabricated” and claimed that Kabul does not have any “credible or verifiable evidence” at all.
The Ministry’s Statement was followed by the following key points:
Absence of Proof: The statement underlined that the Afghan government has no supporting evidence, identification, communication logs or forensic evidence to support its accusations. In addition, the Ministry announced that the videos being circulated on social media were not related to Pakistan.
Discrediting accusations of recruitment or training of former Afghan personnel or facilitation of any terrorist group, Islamabad declined to accept any false claims in this regard.
The Ministry has emphasized that the reports of the international monitoring groups are also consistent in revealing the existence and unrestricted operations of terrorist groups in Afghanistan, and the reports of the United Nations are regularly submitted in this regard. The statement said that it was “astonishing” that “the Taliban administration, which provides safe havens to terrorist groups, is trying to shift the blame on to Pakistan.”
Call to Respect the Commitments and discuss internal governance.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MoIB) urged Kabul to move away from deflection tactics as the Taliban regime should take concrete steps to take action against militant groups in the country rather than shifting the blame for its security failures on Pakistan.
The statement further highlighted the Afghan regime’s falsehoods as a clear strategy to distract the internal and external attention from the internal political tension, economic crisis and extreme system of oppression against women, children and minorities which does not represent the Afghan people at all. Islamabad again called upon Kabul to fulfill its commitments made under Doha, calling on the Afghan government to make Afghanistan a safe haven for no one to attack Pakistan or any of its neighboring countries.
