Pakistan Railways Successfully Auctions 125 Badami Bagh Warehouses; Annual Revenue Records Massive 358 Percent Increase
LAHORE: In a major financial turnaround, Pakistan Railways has successfully auctioned 125 warehouses located in Lahore’s commercial hub of Badami Bagh, significantly boosting the national transporter’s non-fare revenue streams.
According to official figures released following the bidding process, the successful auction drove Pakistan Railways’ annual revenue from these properties up from Rs72.2 million to an impressive Rs331.08 million.
Key Financial Highlights of the Warehouse Auction
Surge in Annual Revenue: The auction of the Badami Bagh warehouses resulted in a phenomenal 358.6% increase in annual rental and commercial income.
Security Deposit Earnings: In addition to the lease revenue, Pakistan Railways will secure Rs277.72 million under one-year advance security deposits.
Record Growth Metric: Compared to previous financial yields from the same properties, total financial earnings for the opening year recorded an extraordinary 743.5% surge.
Railway officials noted that transparent bidding procedures and optimized asset management continue to yield positive results for state-owned commercial properties.
