Pakistan and Saudi Arabia Sign Landmark Agreement Abolishing Visa Requirements for Special and Diplomatic Passport Holders
NEW YORK : Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have officially signed an agreement to waive the visa for holders of diplomatic, official and special passports, which is a significant step in the bilateral relations.
The historic deal was officially inked in New York by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister/Ishaq Dar and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan. Deputy Prime Minister Dar declared his high expectations for the pact to help substantially facilitate high-level diplomacy, ease institutional interactions and enhance the long-standing, fraternal strategic partnership between the two brotherly nations.
High-Level Meetings on the Sidelines of the UNGA
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar also had a high-level meeting with European Union High Representative Kaja Kallas, in a sideline discussion at the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session, where both leaders discussed issues of mutual interest, regional security dynamics and the overall global political environment.
In this context, a major emphasis was laid on further strengthening the all-round partnership, bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Pakistan and the European Union during discussions. Both sides stressed the complete and effective implementation of Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
