Pakistan and Bahrain Set $1 Billion Bilateral Trade Target; Bahraini Foreign Minister Commends Pakistan’s Constructive Role in US-Iran Negotiations
ISLAMABAD: Both friendly nations have decided to raise the level of the bilateral economic cooperation and have set an ambitious target of $1 billion of bilateral trade volume which can only be achieved by concerted efforts.
The pledges were reiterated in the third meeting of the Pakistan-Bahrain Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC) in Islamabad after five years. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, in a capacity role as co-chair of high level talks, emphasized that the diplomatic ties between Islamabad and Manama have successfully reached 55 years of enduring friendship and mutual cooperation.
Following the Joint Ministerial Commission and Bilateral Talks, the main points are the following:
Agreements were made on bilateral trade and both sides agreed to do more in bilateral trade in commerce and industry to make the bilateral trade turnover reach the level of $1 billion.

During the recent conflict between the United States and Iran in the Arabian region, the Bahraini Foreign Minister expressed satisfaction with Pakistan’s positive role and its diplomatic efforts, and vehemently condemned recent attacks against Saudi Arabia.
High Level Engagements: Senator Ishaq Dar welcomed the official visit of the Crown Prince of Bahrain to Pakistan and was looking forward to the leadership-level interaction. He also congratulated the Government of Bahrain for setting up the Islamabad University of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences hospital project in Bahrain.
Official Arrival: Dr. Al Zayani landed in Islamabad on a two-day official visit and was warmly received at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs by the Deputy Prime Minister, Ishaq Dar before co-chairing the JMC session.
