If the authorities do not consider and cancel the controversial pricing orders within the 15-day ultimatum, the association has said it will force the entire supply chains for LPGs to come to a standstill, starting Nov. 16.

Implication of the New Pricing Formula: Ali Haider warned that the new proposed pricing formula will be responsible for increasing LPG prices by 25-30 percent, which would make it financially difficult for distributors and domestic consumers.

Logistical Realities and Local Production: Focusing on the dynamics of the supply chain, Haider noted that 90 percent of LPG used in Pakistan is transported on road through bowzers and the locally produced LPG, which is nearly 30 percent of the total supply, will also become extremely costly on the new pricing mechanism.
