KP Government Approves Tax Exemptions for Merged Districts and Malakand, Expands Ehsaas Naujawan Program
PESHAWAR:Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Provincial Cabinet has officially approved tax exemption of merged tribal districts and Malakand Division. The cabinet agreed to exemptions for services by serviced providers and withdrawal of sales tax incentive for services rendered by industries in the erstwhile FATA areas, PATA, and Malakand, KP Minister for Information Shafiullah Jan said.
The cabinet has approved the raising of financial scope of Ehsaas Naujawan Program from Rs3 billion to Rs5 billion, as a part of a major initiative to strengthen the youth. Moreover, the Cabinet agreed to the programme and arrangements for the formal celebration of Ashra Rahmat Lil-Aalameen (PBUH) in the province from the 1st of Rabi-ul-Awwal.
The cabinet also approved funds for schools and colleges in different districts and approved a semester-wise “jacketed” textbook system till grade 5, the Information minister shared. Also, the cabinet approved the 100% free textbooks scheme for students of 9th to 12th standards and agreed to enact KP Public-Private Partnership Authority Bill 2026.
