Kashmir Dispute Must Be Resolved According to UN Resolutions, Declares Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at UNGA
NEW YORK : Addressing the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has made clear Ankara’s principled position on international disputes, stating that the issue of Kashmir, which is a longstanding one, should be solved in complete accordance with the relevant United Nations resolutions.
In his address to the humanitarian crisis in West Asia, President Erdogan criticized the continuous military operations, calling Gaza the most inhuman and humiliating concentration camp of our times. He said the number of martyrs in Gaza has reached more than 1,500 since the ceasefires have been violated.
Condemning attacks against Israel and Israeli obstruction in the West Bank
President Erdogan pointed to settler violence in the West Bank which is continuing without any restraint and the Muslims’ inability to enter the occupied East Jerusalem sacred places. He noted that Palestinian resistance movements have shown enthusiasm for accepting peace frameworks, but Israel continues to reject the end of its occupation of Gaza.
The New Defense Alliance is highlighted.
During a meeting with the Turkish President, the Saudi King formally introduced the new strategic partnership by saying: “We have formed a defense alliance with Turkey and Pakistan, and our goal is to overcome regional issues within the region through regional solutions.
Erdogan finally pledged that Turkey will firmly advocate for an independent Palestinian state and for justice in the world.
