Islamabad Police Finalize Comprehensive Security Logistics and Equipment Lists to Handle Upcoming PTI Long March
ISLAMABAD: In view of the long march announced by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police has stepped up security measures and is preparing a comprehensive logistics and supply list to ensure security at the entry points of the city and crowd management.
Official police documents estimate 210 shipping containers will be used to completely block off entry points to the capital and a demand for more than 200,000 sandbags to strengthen security perimeters.

For possible clashes, the police plans to inventory and buy:
A supply of 110,000 tear gas shells has been collected.
Launchers: 1,300 guns already exist in armories with an extra 500 guns ordered.
Heavy Machinery: 22 heavy cranes are on hand to quickly deploy and maneuver the containers across strategic roadways.
High Alert in the Red Zone
Security in and around the Red Zone is already at high alert following confirmation from the police that three main access points into the diplomatic enclave are already closed. Also, auxiliary police contingents from other provinces have arrived in Islamabad to strengthen the security net in the capital.
