Ishaq Dar Confirms Three Pakistanis Killed, One Injured in Red Sea Houthi Attack

Islamabad ; Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has strongly condemned the Houthis attack on a commercial vessel in the Red Sea, confirming that three Pakistani nationals were killed in the tragic incident and another was injured.

Foreign Minister Dar said in a statement posted on social media platform X that he was deeply saddened and heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims. He said that the non-combatant commercial vessels are being targeted and innocent lives are in danger. The Foreign Minister said that the attacks are a clear violation of international law and a serious threat to freedom of navigation, maritime security and commercial shipping in the Red Sea.

Islamabad has been in close contact with the relevant Saudi authorities and the internationally recognized government of Yemen to find out more about the attack. In addition, the Pakistani Embassy in Riyadh has been instructed to immediately coordinate for the recovery and repatriation of the body of the deceased while providing complete medical and logistic support to the injured Pakistani citizen.
