TEHRAN : Iran has agreed on a new barter trade deal with China in a major strategic effort to evade broad U.S. financial restrictions by trading billions of dollars in crude oil to China for manufactured goods and military hardware.
Tehran has been able to purchase billions of dollars worth of commodities from Beijing without going through the traditional international banking system, according to reports by Reuters, which cited a Chinese official as saying that trade with Iran was being settled in Iranian oil.
