Lebanese Government is Trying to Bring Army Under Israeli Pressure: Hezbollah
BEIRUT:Lebanese government is trying to apply pressure on the Lebanese army, says Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem.
On issues related to regional developments, Qassem said that the so-called framework agreement between Israel and the United States are basically Israeli impositions. He said that under the terms of the deal, Israel gets everything it wanted, which amounts to the loss of sovereignty for Lebanon.
Seven rounds of talks have so far produced no tangible results in the case of Lebanon, and Lebanese authorities should reconsider their negotiations method, Qassem said. He stressed that the Lebanese army is under “unjustifiable” Israeli attacks and pressure.
In addition, he said Israel has set up an investigative committee to oversee the use of the Lebanese army during its deployment and operations, he said. He said that if the situation persists, Lebanon’s sovereignty and dignity will be further harmed.
