Federal Government Refiles Review Petition Against PTI Founder’s Hospital Transfer
ISLAMABAD: The federal government has restated its review petition in the Supreme Court of Pakistan against the directives issued by the court for transfer of the PTI founder to the hospital. The official sources said that the application for miscellaneous review was filed before the Advocate General by the Islamabad Chief Commissioner, and got the formal objections raised earlier by the Supreme Court Registrar’s Office resolved.
The Registrar Office of the Supreme Court earlier had returned the initial plea filed by the government because of the lack of paper books. The apex court had earlier issued a directive to the authorities to take the PTI chief to the Shifa International Hospital for medical evaluation but later, he was sent to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) for a short medical checkup before being brought back to Adiala Jail. Government lawyers say the review is an attack on the basic process in prison rules.
