Ishaq Dar Holds Telephonic Contacts with Saudi and Egyptian Counterparts, Discusses Strategic and Defense Matters
ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Ishaq Dar has had telephonic talks with his Saudi and Egyptian counterparts to discuss bilateral relations and major developments in the region and internationally.
Ishaq Dar spoke on the phone with Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Saudi Foreign Minister, according to a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA). Topics discussed included regional security updates, multilateral cooperation and issues of mutual interest in international forums.

Both leaders had detailed consultations on the next meeting of the Strategic and Defense Committee set up under the Makkah Joint Defense Pact, which was previously discussed in Istanbul, during the call.
The two foreign ministers confirmed their intention to continue to keep close and continuous communication to promote bilateral security interests.

The foreign ministers both confirmed their commitment to further develop bilateral relations in political, economic and security fields. They also agreed to have an official in-person meeting on the sidelines of the upcoming United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session.
