Brazilian Foreign Minister Contacts Ishaq Dar, Discusses Global Peace and Bilateral Ties
ISLAMABAD: Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, received a phone call from the Brazil Foreign Minister, Sen. Mauro Vieira, during which both dignitaries discussed various regional and international developments and issues of mutual interest.
The Foreign Office spokesperson thanked the Brazilian Foreign Minister for his constructive efforts in supporting peace and stability in the region and believed that dialogue and diplomacy are important aspects in maintaining peace and security in the world. In addition, Minister Vieira congratulated Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar on signing the Makkah joint defense agreement.
Promoting Multilateral Cooperation and High-Level Exchanges
In the discussion, Senator Ishaq Dar highlighted the role played by Brazil in building cooperation between the countries of the “South of the world”. The two foreign ministers agreed to keep the communication of high-ranking officials and the coordination between them on a stable and continuous basis in multilateral formats, such as the United Nations.
Reiterating the mutual desire to strengthen bilateral relations, Ishaq Dar invited the Brazilian Foreign Minister to make an official visit to Pakistan, which was accepted by the Minister.
