Fire Breaks Out in Administrative Block of Supreme Court Building in Islamabad, Swiftly Brought Under Control
ISLAMABAD: The ground floor administrative block of the Supreme Court of Pakistan building has been successfully brought under control after a fire broke out.
Initial reports and rescue sources in the Indian Ocean State report that the fire started by short circuiting an electrical installation in the administrative wing. Fire brigade vehicles and Capital Development Authority (CDA) Capital Emergency Service teams were immediately summoned to the Supreme Court premises on receiving alerts and an immediate action was taken to contain the fire.
Rescue workers reported that the fire has been extinguished, but very much of smoke has been trapped in the administrative building during the operation and after.
Cooling and smoke-ejection processes were then started to evacuate the facility and obtain overall structural safety. There were no injuries reported in the incident, but investigations and assessments are ongoing to determine the material damage caused by the incident.
