Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi Holds High-Level Meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Emphasizes Deepening Bilateral Ties
TEHRAN : Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi has met with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian for an important high-level meeting in Tehran regarding bilateral cooperation and the immediate security scenario in the region which he is currently visiting on an official visit.
Iranian media reports say President Pezeshkian received the Pakistani Interior Minister and mentioned that the two countries were two strong ones in the region. We can meet many of our common needs by meeting them locally and regionally. We hope that cooperation and communication across all sectors will continue to thrive,” President Pezeshkian stated.
Promoting Joint Energy, Trade and Tourism Cooperation
The President of Iran welcomed the progress made for bilateral cooperation process and expressed his satisfaction about Pakistan’s active participation in it. In the in-depth discussions, both sides paid high attention to the issue of greatly deepening cooperation in the realms of energy, tourism and bilateral trade.
Minister of Interior Mohsin Naqvi highlighted the robustness of the relations between the two countries, saying that the relations of Pakistan and Iran have never been so close.
The meetings are with Iranian Counterpart Eskandar Momeni.
Mohsin Naqvi had extensive talks with Iran’s Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni before meeting the President, who had personally welcomed him at Tehran airport on his arrival.
Progress on current joint projects in different fields was discussed by the two ministers of interior. Iran’s Interior Minister Momeni gave high praise to the efforts of Pakistan’s PM and army for uninterrupted efforts for peace and stability in the region calling Naqvi’s visit highly productive. In turn, Naqvi said he was confident that bilateral relations will further strengthen in the coming days.
