ISLAMABAD: The Federal Constitutional Court has officially called for October 15 for hearing of an important petition filed for disqualification of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.

The disqualification case will be heard by a special bench presided over by the chief justice of the Federal Constitutional Court, Amin-ud-Din Khan. The petition has been filed by Advocate Sher Afzal Marwat who has challenged the appointment of the KP Chief Minister and his election.

The petitioner argues that a person found guilty of a crime cannot be nominated or elected to public office under the Constitution.
