Pakistan Suffers Crushing Defeat Against England in Leeds Test, Loses by an Innings and 103 Runs
LEEDS: Pakistan was trounced at England’s first Test at Headingley, losing the second Test by an innings and 103 runs.
England had an easy 409 runs to chase a 238-run lead following Pakistan’s first-innings score of 171. Harry Brook led the way for their side with 91 runs before Jordan Cox (73) and Joe Root (66) followed him with 51 and 44 respectively. Ali Usman took five wickets for Pakistan and Khurram Shahzad took three wickets.
Second Innings Collapse
With 238 runs down, Pakistan were the victims again with the bowlers of England. Captain Shan Masood found himself in with 29 runs, Abdullah Shafique scored 15 runs, Saud Shakeel made 14 runs, Azan Awais scored 9 runs and Khurram Shahzad was dismissed for 4 runs while Imam-ul-Haq was dismissed without a ball.
Josh Tongue led the way with a blistering spell of bowling, supported well by Ollie Robinson and the rest of the England bowlers who took over the remainder of the match in superb form.
