Electricity Prices Hiked by Rs1.11 Per Unit Under August Fuel Adjustment; Notification Issued by NEPRA
ISLAMABAD: Electricity rates have risen by Rs1.11 per unit due to adjustment of monthly fuel charges (MFC) for August, as a new blow to power consumers who are already facing hefty electricity bills.
An official notification from the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) regarding the price hike has been issued. The body says the move would impact customers of all electricity companies, including K-Electric.

The extra cost as a result of the August fuel adjustment will be evident and payable on consumers’ electricity bills for October.
Overall Financial Burden: This collective adjustment in the price of power units of Rs1.11 will push an extra financial burden on power consumers across the country of about Rs19 billion. NEPRA has also granted exemption for Lifeline Consumers, which is a great relief to the vulnerable segment of electricity consumers.
