Karachi: On the request of the NAB prosecutor, an accountability court has started proceedings to reinstate 15 corruption cases after a direction from the Sindh High Court that had rejected the transfer of these cases to anti-corruption courts.
The accountability court has sent formal summons to a number of prominent accused persons and former officials in land allotment and corruption cases.
Those invited include Balochistan Provincial Minister Ali Hassan Brohi, former Chief Secretary and Land Utilization Member of the Government of Sindh Siddique Memon.
Additionally, the court issued notices to former Malir Deputy Commissioner Qazi Jan Muhammad, former District Revenue Officer Aijaz Hussain, former Additional Secretary of Land Utilization Abdul Qadir Memon and former Section Officer Ghulam Mustafa.
Further, notices have been issued to Muhammad Musa Kazmi, the Treasury Officer, Abdul Latif Khoso, Assistant Treasury Officer, Mirpur Sakro Tapedar Nisar Ahmed, Ali Asghar Mendhro, former Mukhtiarkar Iqbal Awan and Muhammad Hanif. Additional revenue officers have also been ordered to appear in court and of them builders Javed Iqbal and the Waseem Ahmed Sheikh have been ordered to appear in court.
