GBLA-9 Skardu By-Election: 10 Candidates to Contest for the Seat
SKARDU: 10 candidates are to go on a head-to-head duel in the upcoming By-Election for GBLA-9 Skardu in the Assembly of the State of GB.
There are a total of 33,649 registered voters in the constituency who will exercise their right to franchise, according to election authorities. Sixty polling stations have been set up in the area for ease of voters, with 24 of these classified as highly sensitive.
By-Election Background
The by-election was called due to disqualification of former Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly Speaker Fida Nashad.
Fida Nashad was ousted after being convicted by the court of hiding assets in the compulsory financial statements.
