Bangladesh Will Consider Joining Makkah Defense Agreement If Invited, Says Foreign Minister Khalil Rahman
DHAKA: Foreign Minister Khalil Rahman said on Tuesday that his country is taking a positive view on the Makkah Defense Agreement, and would respond positively if Dhaka is formally invited to join the pact.
Foreign Minister Khalil Rahman said during a parliamentary session that Bangladesh sees the Makkah Agreement in a positive light and would take into account any call to sign it.
The Ummah’s Defense and Regional Sovereignty have been expanded.There has been expansion of the defense and regional sovereignty of the Ummah.
Khalil Rahman said that the expansion of Makkah Agreement would be a good step to protect the Muslim world at large. He stressed that the Makkah pact is an internal issue of the Muslim states and there is no place for any concern and apprehension about the agreement.
The Makkah Agreement was established by Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye, and it is expected that other Muslim nations will join. As per this agreement, an armed attack against one of the member states is deemed an attack against the other member states as well.
Remarkably, a number of countries have already offered to sign the Makkah Defense Agreement, including Egypt.
