The players were to go through a series of warm-up exercises for the physical fitness and fielding training done at the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground before moving on to a series of net sessions for batting and bowling.

Captain Babar Azam, who had been ruled out of the first Test owing to a injury to his finger, returned to the squad and played in the batting drills, which included a long and intensive session. He is said to be generally expected to be a member of the playing XI for the second Test of the series, which will begin at Lord’s on Thursday.
