Armed Forces Resolute to Defeat Terrorism with Nation’s Unwavering Support, Declares Field Marshal Asim Munir
RAWALPINDI: Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (COAS & CDF) has said that the armed forces are totally determined and steadfast to defeat terrorism and bring lasting peace and stability to the country with the whole-hearted support of the nation.
Field Marshal Asim Munir visited the Corps Headquarters Peshawar and was greeted by the Peshawar Corps Commander, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said. The army chief got detailed briefing on the current security scenario, the continuation of counter-terrorism operations and border management package while on the visit.
Praise for Troop Morale and Operational Readiness
The Field Marshal was well briefed on operational readiness of forces deployed across the province. He praised the morale, combat readiness and excellent professionalism of the officers and troops, and their unwavering commitment to protect the country and its citizens.
Field Marshal Asim Munir told military formations to be extra vigilant and keep the operational efficiency at the highest level all the time. The supreme sacrifices made by our martyrs in the defense of the motherland will never be forgotten,” he reiterated.
Prayer of remembrance for martyrs: Yadgar-e-Shuhada
The Field Marshal reached there and deposited a floral wreath at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada and extended rich tributes to the brave personnel who sacrificed their lives in the war against terrorism giving a Farewell to them in the form of Fateha. He again affirmed that the state and armed forces’ task was unbending to completely wipe out the elements of terrorism.
