Aleema Khan’s Arrest Is the First Step Toward Worsening the Situation, Warns PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has strongly reacted against the arrest of Aleema Khan, cautioning the administration that such belligerent measures were a direct approach to add to the political turbulence.

In a formal statement shared on the social media platform X, Barrister Gohar reiterated that PTI’s march scheduled for September 27 will be non-violent and peaceful, stating that “the party has no intentions of carrying out any type of confrontation”.

Civil action for the rights to peace and immediate release demanded.
While maintaining the core objective of the party to be a peaceful and democratic struggle to fulfill legitimate constitutional and political demands, the PTI Chairman said that the party is committed to this process. He said that the arrest of Aleema Khan or putting her under detention under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) ordinance amounts to nothing but unnecessary tensions.

Barrister Gohar strongly condemned the high profile detention and called for immediate lifting of all such coercive measures and called on the immediate release of Aleema Khan, saying that the party leadership will soon announce its formal counter-strategy.
