AJK Prime Minister Announces Restoration of Internet Services and Entry/Exit Routes
MUZAFFARABAD: Internet services will be completely restored in the next day or two and all blocked entry and exit transport routes will be fully restored, newly elected head of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government, Barrister Iftikhar Gilani, has announced.
During his first-ever visit to the Central Press Club in Muzaffarabad, Prime Minister Iftikhar Gilani said that the government is working on a compensation policy for the business community, with a specific focus on the loss of business in Mirpur, as a result of the internet shutdowns and civil unrest.
On Focus on Education & Removal of Border Restrictions
The setback in education has been one of the major concerns of his government and he said they will make every effort to resume educational activities and help cope with the losses suffered by students due to the disruption in educational activities at different educational institutions.
The Prime Minister promised to remove all measures and blockade on all transit routes between Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa within 48 hours, assuring the public.
He said he can assure you that within a day or two, those closures will be gone everywhere, there will be no restrictions or obstacles on mobility.
Vision for Political Unity and High-Level Meetings in Lahore
The AJK Prime Minister insisted that his government would see the efforts of political forces and people of the state in achieving progress, emphasising that the government was truly committed to addressing public grievances and does not want to do anything that could create a wedge or division in society.
The newly elected Prime Minister had visited the terminal earlier for green electric buses gifted to the State of Azad Jammu and Kashmir by the Chief Minister of Punjab Maryam Nawaz.
After the visit, the Prime Minister went to Lahore where he had high-level contacts with PML-N Quaid Mian Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
